Lake La Cocha

Boat ride and visit to La Corota

At the main port, known as "the little rural Venice" for its wooden houses, you can take a boat across the lake (approx. 15 minutes). Upon reaching La Corota Island, a guided walk takes you along a beautiful wooden path through the nature reserve and the totora reed ecosystem.

Traditional gastronomy

Tasting rainbow trout — fried, in garlic sauce or smoked — is a tradition. You can pair it with a "hervido" (a hot fruit drink with liquor) to fight off the cold, and finish with a local dessert.

Hiking and photography

There are several ecological trails around the lake. In addition, the architecture of the houses along the waterfront makes the whole place perfect for photography.

Spending a night or two in the cabins on the lakeshore is a wonderful way to disconnect and enjoy the tranquillity and the mist typical of the region.
